Notte Bianca Inaugurated by The President of Malta

Tomorrow 3rd October, Her Excellency Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca,  President of Malta,  will be officially opening this year’s 10th anniversary edition of Notte Bianca.

Malta’s largest cultural event will kick off at 7pm from St Elmo’s Square next to the Mediterranean Conference Centre with DUĦĦAN MIS-SOQFA a unique, colourful atmospheric project accompanied by the In Guardia Troupe, the 1st Hamrun Pipe Band Duke of Argyll’s Own and the King’s Own Band Club.

The President of Malta will launch HeForShe, a solidarity campaign for gender equality initiated by UN Women. Its goal is to engage men of all ages as agents of change for the achievement of gender equality and women’s rights by encouraging them to take action against inequalities faced by women and girls.

Following the official launch of HeForShe, Her Excellency will attend various Notte Bianca events throughout Valletta, culminating in a special appearance at Pjazza Teatru Rjal where MALTIN MOD IEĦOR, a concert of Maltese music, will be broadcast live on PBS.

NOTTE BIANCA LIVE, MALTIN MOD IEĦOR will consist of a live concert by Maltese singers, accompanied by the PBS ORCHESTRA who will perform a  repertoire of iconic Maltese tunes from the last 30 years. Performers will include: Georgina, William Mangion, and Olivia Lewis amongst others. They will sing memorable songs by Brikkuni, The Rifffs, Chasing Pandora, X-Tend, Beangrowers and Winter Moods just to mention a few.
