The Malta Individual Investor Programme (IIP)

The first thing for you to know is the 9 Cardinal points for qualification.

Detailed Procedure

1. The pertinent documentation pack compiled by WDM Lex Advisory as accredited person, is received by Identity Malta and Checked for completeness.

2. If and when complete, a client reference number is allocated (to be used in all future correspondence and payments) and an acknowledgement of receipt (AOR) is issued.

3. An invoice is issued by the Authority for the pertinent Due Diligence fees. At this point a non-refundable contribution amounting to €10,000 ought to be paid. The invoice shall also include pertinent bank charges.

4. The Application is processed and due diligence checks are undertaken within a 4 month period.

5. A Letter of Approval in Principle issued.

6. The invoice pertinent to the outstanding balance of the contribution is issued. This must be paid within 25 days from the date of the letter of approval in principle.

7. Within 4 months from the date of the letter of approval in principle, the client must prove that they have a contractual undertaking to fulfil the programme requirements as outlined hereunder:

a. Purchase or lease of property (to be held for a minimum of 5 years);

b. €150,000 investment in Malta (as defined by Identity Malta);

c. Global health insurance is held for all applicants.

8. After 12 months residency has been achieved and provided all other requirements have been met, to include the swearing of the Oath of Allegiance, a Certificate of Naturalisation will be issued. WDM International will be able to assist the client through the provision of the necessary advice as how to satisfy the 12 month residency requirement.

9. The passport application can then be submitted, fees are to be paid and the passport will be issued.

An applicant under the programme is entitled to apply for a fast tracked Schengen Visa, which will enable the said applicant to travel within the Schengen Area. WDM International is able to assist the client with such process, enabling the client to obtain the said VISA prior to the issuance of the certificate of naturalisation and at the very start of the process for the application for Citizenship.

Basic Outline of Documentation Required

Applications for the IIP ought to be submitted to the pertinent Authority together with the following documents:

1. A certificate from a reputable health system that the main applicant and his dependants are not suffering from any contagious disease and that they are in good health;

2. Police conduct certificates – these need not be submitted at application stage but can be submitted at a later date, prior to approval of application);

3. Professional references as evidence that the main applicant and his dependants are fit and proper persons;

4. An undertaking to remit the required contribution when called to do so by the pertinent Authority;

5. Preliminary Agreement of purchase (contract to be submitted at a later stage) or contract of lease of immovable residential property in Malta;

6. Proof of investment made / purchase related to stocks, bonds, debentures, special purpose vehicles or other investments as provided by Identity Malta;

7. An affidavit of support for each dependant who is over 18 years old.
